Cost Controller – South Normanton

Sentinel Fleet Management are experts in fleet management, we specialise is scheduled event management and maintenance planning, non-scheduled event management, mobile maintenance and repairs. We offer industry-leading audits for entire commercial fleet. And these will help identify ways to be more efficient, more cost-effective and safer, all whilst maintaining crucial operator compliance for a variety of businesses.

We have a customer focused driver and operator contact centre and we want you to be a part of it.

The Group now operates out of 13 depots spanning across the East Midlands, West Midlands, North Wales, Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and South Yorkshire. We provide all automotive services, from the initial sale to the complete care and management of entire fleet, no matter the size and scale. 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scrutinise, challenge, and authorise the costs of up to 100 daily jobs
  • Manage estimate/authorisation Workflow via portals, emails, and phone calls
  • Resolve queries in a timely manner and chase suppliers on responses to queries
  • Pull open job/WIP Reports to chase down suppliers on outstanding costs and invoices
  • Check for any manufacturer recalls or knowledge articles to support with repair costs
  • Check historical repairs for repeat repairs and misdiagnosis of defects
  • Check service records to ensure vehicle is maintained to manufacturers recommended guidelines
  • Analyse fleet costs and identify any areas for improvement or cost saving measures
  • Interface with a network of Maintenance Suppliers and their respective billing structures
  • Checking of compliance documentation

Person Specification

  • Experience of working in a fast paced and demanding customer environment, with a flexible approach towards meeting the needs of the customer
  • Self-motivated and able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and be a team player.
  • Well organised, taking ownership of tasks and being able to work to detail.
  • Good IT Skills and understanding of Microsoft Packages, particularly Excel.
  • Good Team player
  • Previous experience within the transport industry essential and technical/mechanical knowledge or background advantageous
